May the readers and I thank everyone for the variety of storylines provided. It was truly a delight to read through the range of ideas, to laugh out loud at a couple, smile at several. We shivered at the sinister and haunting hints within others, and pondered at the depth of character, and situation, in many.
We were pleased to see several new writers enter the competition. Don't forget, if you are of new writer status, we have organised a competition especially for you, closing in March 2015. A discount fee of £2 if you are a previous entrant of our competitions, otherwise the entry fee is £3. Free critique will be provided to all entrants. http://erewashwriterscompetition.weebly.com/2015-new-writer-comp.html
Although the quality of writing in the majority of entries made it an extremely difficult task to provide a shortlist of only twenty to our judge we're pleased to now list the final result below.
As the standard of entries was so high, entrants should expect to receive a few words in response to their entries by end of January. If you have requested a critique, this will be sent to you as stated on your receipt of entry.

Judge and reader feedback for winning entries
Kevin Brooke - Superbly written. A well-deserved winner. A wonderful, sensitively written but sad story which I enjoyed very much.
Anne Wilson - Reader is immediately drawn in and kept guessing. A thoroughly absorbing creepy tale.
Julie Swan - Brilliant concept! A rare and original treat. Wildly imaginative and inventive.
