Thank you to everyone who entered our competitions in 2012. We were thoroughly impressed by the standard of entries and enjoyed the variety you have provided us with.
Our congratulations to the winners and you can read the winning stories on page 'Winners 2012'.
We had a large amount of requests for critiques and these have all been despatched. Our critique service is currently available for non-competition entries. A basic critique for your story can be provided, with notes on story opening, ending, characterisation, etc for £3.00. A detailed critique service is also available, which includes advice about how to improve any weak areas in your story, a re-write and more feedback for £10.00. We accept non-competition submissions and will consider works with a high word count. Please email me (Debbie) for more information at erewashwriterscomps (at) hotmail (dot) co (dot) uk
If your story has not won one of our competitions, please don't be discouraged. Writing for competitions is one of the best ways to hone your storytelling skills so please keep writing.
We provide free-entry competitions when we can to enable as many as possible to enter. When we do ask for an entry fee we keep it as low as we can because we want YOU to keep writing. Our team of readers changes as do our competitions and winners are selected by a variety of judges. You're welcome to enter as many of our competitions as you want. All we ask is you read the Rules of Entry before you submit your entry.
Our competitions for 2013 are listed on page 'Competitions 2013' and we hope you will find something to interest you. If not, then please contact me (Debbie) at erewashwriterscomps (at) hotmail (dot) co (dot) uk to let me know what sort of competitions you would like to see on this website. Can't guarantee anything will change but we're always open to suggestions (polite ones, mind). If there is anything in particular you'd like to comment on about our competitions, or writing matters in general, please do drop me a line.
Thank you for entering our competitions.
Best wishes,
Debbie Wilkinson
